How your score becomes a CLB level
- 1You complete the writing section under timed exam conditions.
- 2It's scored on the official scale (each module scored, then converted to a clb level).
- 3That raw score is converted to a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) — the level IRCC uses.
- 4Your CLB across all four skills feeds your Express Entry / CRS points.
Timing & strategy
- 1Spend the first 3–4 minutes planning your paragraphs before writing a single sentence.
- 2Hit the word count: too short loses task marks, too long multiplies your chances of error.
- 3Reserve the final 2 minutes to proofread agreements, verb endings and accents.
